Julian Schrattenecker
Rapier, Cape & Dagger
What is better than Rapier & Cape or Rapier & Dagger? Of course: Rapier, Cape & Dagger! We will rehearse the principles of dagger and cape separately and then combine it all to an almost invincible form of civilian fencing.
Equipment: Rapier, Dagger, Cape, mask, glove, chest protector or good padded jacket. A small number of cloaks will be available on a first come, first served basis.
Biography
I am Julian and I have been an active historical fencer since 2011. The main focus of my fencing studies is the style of the early 17th century of Salvatore Fabris and the German fencing masters who followed in his footsteps.
To improve the interpretation, I also transcribe different manuscripts about fencing of the 16th and 17th century, such as HS381 from the Palais Liechtenstein, and publicise transcriptions for the historical fencing community.
