The False Edge in Marozzo's Two-Handed Sword
False edge actions are one of the main pillars of Bolognese fencing, no matter if you wield a one-handed or two-handed sword. We will look at various cases, where you have to use the false edge to your advantage in attacking as well as in parrying.
Equipment: Longsword (the longer, the better), gloves, mask, jacket.
Biography
Florian Fortner diligently studies Rapier sources since 2011, focusing on Salvator Fabris’ most excellent work, with the Bolognese fencing tradition as a close second. He only fights with weapons he made himself, which are always too beautiful to be destroyed.
As a competitive fencer, he routinely scores well in national and international tournaments.
