Fort St. Angelo
Once again we have the honour of hosting the MHFA International meeting in Fort Saint Angelo.
While the site dominating the Grand Harbour has been fortified since the late Roman period, the present fortress dates back to the 12th Century. Originally the seat of the royal Spanish representative and garrison in Malta, in the 16th century the fort became the first headquarters of the Knights of St. John in Malta, and was one of the three strongpoints upon which the Siege of 1565 turned. It remained in use as a military installation, with several alterations, until the mid-20th century.
Fort St. Angelo is now managed by Heritage Malta. You can find out more about the fort and its history on its Facebook page.
The fort offers a variety of unique locations to hold classes, fence, and explore!
